At the beginning of the competition day, only the first age group is weighed in. Afterwards, all age groups of the day may weigh in until the end of their respective weigh-in period. Fights start shortly after the weigh-in ends. Award ceremonies take place shortly after the end of the fights of each age group (male/female together).

Up to 5 participants: Round-robin (everyone competes against everyone)
Up to 32 participants: Double-elimination system
32 or more participants: Single-elimination system with a double consolation round
The organizer expressly reserves the right to make changes to the tournament format depending on the number of participants.

Mixed weight classes are permitted in the U9 division. In the U9 and U11 divisions, following the Scandinavian model, only red and white belts are worn on the mat.
The Golden Score in the U18, U21, and Men’s/Women’s divisions is limited to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Register athletes for the tournament
Registration is only possible via the registration tool on our website, elefanten-cup.de. No registrations via email! The registration tool requires registration by club. Please create only one account per club; we reserve the right to delete duplicate entries. Participants can then be registered within the club.
To register an athlete, your club must first be registered. Open the registration tool, fill out the form that appears, and register your club. Once you have completed the registration, you will receive a confirmation email.
On your club’s page, you’ll find the option “Register Athletes.” Fill out the form accordingly and submit it. If a double entry is possible and desired, repeat the registration process for the relevant age group.
Once each athlete has registered, both the club and the athlete (if an email address was provided) will receive a confirmation email. Possible statuses: Waitlist (awaiting provisional confirmation or rejection), provisionally confirmed (pay), confirmed (participation guaranteed).
An email containing all payment details will be sent to the club once a day, summarizing all changes made up to that point. Please do not make the payment until you receive the preliminary confirmation! If your status is "Waiting List," we ask for your patience.
Once you have registered
You will receive information via email regarding all relevant procedures and changes related to the tournament and your registration. Please check your inbox regularly and, if necessary, your spam folder.
Once the athlete has been provisionally confirmed, you will receive payment instructions via email. Entries are finalized upon payment of the entry fee. Unpaid entries will be placed on the waiting list after 28 days and will lose their guaranteed starting spot.
If the number of participants in the selected age group drops below 50%, athletes from the waiting list will automatically be moved up. All remaining starting spots will be allocated by the tournament organizers. In either case, you will receive an email and should proceed as described in the “Payment” section.
Any changes made in the registration tool within the registration period are permitted, and the corresponding registration fees will be credited. If an athlete changes age groups, they may lose their starting spot. In this case, the participant will be placed on the waiting list.
Cancellations may be made within the registration period; however, this will result in the loss of your starting spot. Registration fees are non-refundable in the event of withdrawal (for any reason). You may be able to transfer your starting spot to another member of your club.

Of course, a small club can’t organize this tournament on its own, which is why we’re looking for YOU! We welcome any hard-working, helpful hands that can lend us a hand! That’s why we warmly invite young referees and judo enthusiasts to join us at the Elefanten Cup as table officials or event volunteers. We’ll thank you with a small stipend.
Referee
Referees with a national A/B license (or equivalent) or an IJF license are cordially invited to apply for the Elefanten Cup. We will review every application and get back to you. So be sure to register today! You can look forward to a professional, international tournament featuring referees from all over Europe and competitive compensation.
